My name is Karen & my business is called Fabricate. I make handmade gifts and home decors. I create unique handmade fabric lampshades these are one of my best seller products, whether it is to style your own home or give a Unique gift. I use high quality fabrics to create these unique lampshades, I use many varieties of fabrics on my lampshades. All my lampshades are handcrafted & hand rolled and made with a special PVC lining. Each shade is handmade with love.

Recently I was asked to revamp some old lampshades for Collins Bar & Restaurant in Dooradoyle in Limerick. I just loved to see the transformation and the new lease of life that is given to these old lampshades.  In total, 7 lampshades were transformed from an old, plain beer stained cream fabric to a funky modern contemporary patterned fabric that just made the shades standout.

As you will see from the before and after pictures these revamped, these upcycled lampshades have been giving a new lease of live & added a pop of colour to its surroundings of a very busy bar. Some lampshades are just not ready for the trash heap,  its great to recycle and reuse the base and replace the PVC with a carefully chosen fabric to suit and coordinate with your surroundings and décor. The lampshades that I revamped had a great shape and modern base it was my pleasure to give them some colour and some character.
